The Bard steps out!
The Mayor and Mayoress of Stratford upon Avon officially restart the Shakespeare Tour
It seems only fitting that The Mayor and Mayoress of Stratford upon Avon will be ‘reopening’ the Shakespeare Walking Tour of Stratford at Tudor World - where so many Mayors had once lived. The Shakespeare Tour of Stratford, now in its 9th year, has been suspended for the last 3 ½ months due to the pandemic - will have its official reopening on Saturday 1st August at 1pm, followed by the tour at 2pm.
The tour was an original creation of the team at Tudor World nearly 10 years ago. They realized that there was not a ‘Shakespeare’ character in Stratford (apart from once a year at the Birthday celebrations): and felt that Stratford and its visitors would get a real kick out of meeting the great man who would guide them through his beautiful home town, relating his life and inspirations – all with much charm and wit of course!
The tour has gone from strength to strength, in particular with schools groups – with around 60,000 children having been inspired by the magic of the tour to learn more about the man and his works
